A therapist and client in a counseling session

Our approach is collaborative, goal directed, with greater emphasis on skill-building, homework between sessions, and measuring progress along the way.

Our approach to therapy

Building Skills, Not Just Insight

We use evidence-based approaches, including CBT-I for insomnia, trauma-focused therapy for PTSD, and structured behavioral tools for depression and anxiety, with an emphasis on practical skill-building between sessions, not just weekly conversation.

  • Individualized treatment planning, created collaboratively with you
  • Measurement-based care to track what's working
  • Direct coordination with your psychiatrist, when applicable
  • Integration counseling for patients in our Spravato® Plus program

Frequently asked questions

Counseling & Coaching, Explained

Our therapists work with children, teens, adults, and older adults on concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship or family issues. We'll match you with a provider whose approach fits what you're working through.
Counseling addresses diagnosable mental health conditions using evidence-based clinical approaches, while coaching focuses more narrowly on goal-setting and accountability. Many patients benefit from both, and we'll help determine which fits your situation.
It varies by person and goal. Some patients see meaningful progress in a few months of skill-building, while others benefit from ongoing, longer-term support. Your therapist checks in regularly on progress and adjusts the plan with you.
We're in-network with a range of Michigan plans. Visit our insurance page for the current list, or contact us and we'll verify your specific benefits.
